Culex thalassius Theobald, 1903
Type-loc: Gambiae Valley, West africa, now Gambia
Culex thalassius is similar to that of Cx. sitiens, but differs in having a longer siphon and about 65 comb scales against 35. Its easily separated from Culex laticinctus by the fact that all the subventral tufts of the siphon are placed distal to the pecten.
